notes: Stephen migrated from Anson NC to Stewart County TN in 1805
with his young family, and started farming along the White Oak Creek.
On 8 JUN 1811, Stephen purchased 100 acres (eventually growing to 247
acres) on the White Oak Creek. By 1814, there were enough men around
to form militias, mainly for protection against the Indians. Stephen
served under Captain Gray for 13 months.
After living for more than 7 decades, and in Stewart County for some
35 years, Stephen and family moved to Humphreys County TN.

and wills. Stephen lived with his grandparents after his fathers death
and may have passed on before 1870.
Daniel and family tended to spell the surname "Ogwin", as their
tombstones attest. His son William and descendants lived in Henderson Co
TN for many years. The widowed Sarah Swift O'Guinn m2 Andrew J.MITCHELL
ca 1889 in Henderson Co TN. Andrew Mitchell b NOV 1835 TN and was
Pvt.,G Co.35th Inf.CSA,pension#S11465 (Sarah's widows pension #W6609).
John lived with his Aunt Harriet and family until marrying his
wife Mary. John and brothers William & Thomas lived in Stewart Co TN
for many years.
