notes: Aquilla Sr. & his brother Thomas came to Milford Township in 1771, with Aquilla
purchasing a tract of land known as the Kerlin Place. In 1774,he moved to what
is now Monroe Township and took up land in Black Dog Valley(now Chester Valley)
where he lived until his death.
Thomas Jr. was a veteran of the Revolutionary War, and received a pension.
He had been wounded in the knee during the war, married but never had children.
In November 1794,Aquilla Jr. and his brother Robert warranted a tract of 380
acres in the valley, where Aquilla owned a tavern. He later moved to Millerstown.
Robert settled the land,later selling it to John Graybill on 15 MAR 1835.
Aquilla Jr. was a supporter of building a Presbyterian Church in 1795, and a
local school in 1818.
In 1825, the children of Thomas(Aquilla1) & Catherine removed to Salem,
Stark Co OH.
